All
spindles received at Smith-Renaud are disassembled and evaluated within
the first day and a documented repair quote is provided. Our
engineering staff reviews each application in search of opportunities to
enhance performance or extend life. There is more to a spindle repair
than just replacing the bearings. All components must fit within proper
tolerances, and the lubrication mechanics and drive system must be sound
to ensure a quality spindle.

| All spindles built or re-built at Smith-Renaud incorporate a bearing and
seal configuration that has been chosen based upon preload, speed and
temperature ratings, AND with consideration of the stiffness, radial and
axial load requirements of a given application. Also, the lubrication
system is reviewed and verified to guarantee capability, and we evaluate
operating conditions to enhance life of the spindle. Finally, each
spindle is assembled in our clean room and dynamically balanced. All
spindles are tested for vibration, run out, and temperature stability.
Results are documented, along with other dimensional characteristics,
offering traceability for the life of each spindle. Smith-Renaud
warranties all products shipped.
